PROJECT SOS (Street Outreach for Survival) is operated in Bell, Coryell and McLennan Counties by Central Texas Youth Services.  This project targets and identifies the homeless/runaway youth population in Central Texas.  Services include food and hygiene packs, clothing, counseling, information and referral, shelter, independent skills training, and transitional living services.  The overall goal of Project SOS is to move street youth to a safe & supervised living environment.

An important "doorway" to services are the over 350 Safe Place sites open throughout Bell and Coryell Counties.  This bright yellow sign is recognized by children and youth and they know this sign means they can get help...fast!  These signs can be seen outside of convenience stores, shopping centers and malls, fire stations, libraries, city buildings, and other youth organizations.
